The idea that someone shares my vision and likes my art enough to purchase that art is completely rewarding.
I was so happy that I started to do “bonus” sketches on the outside of the packages to reward my clients for their support. It had an unexpected added bonus of the couriers and postmen taking better care of the packages. I don’t always have the opportunity to add a sketch to the package, but I try. A few weeks ago, I launched my limited edition book “Silver Clouds: The 1934 Grand Prix Season”.
I wrote, illustrated, designed and hand assemble it, and since it is my first and only book, I’ve been wondering how it would be received. I’m strictly limiting the edition to 50 signed and numbered book/packages, and each book takes me over an hour to assemble and package.
Happily, the first reviews have come out, and they have been wonderful.
